Inclement Weather
It is desirable for Moore County Schools to make announcements regarding school schedules prior to 6:30 a.m. When inclement weather is a strong possibility or reality, one of three decisions will be made by the school administration. We will run school as scheduled, delay, or close. Delays or closings will be called in to the radio and TV stations listed below, but please remember that Moore County Schools are best served by local stations, and that should be your first choice for information. Inclement weather in Moore County can occur in one area while the other areas are unaffected. Therefore, we must be flexible in decision making. When making a decision regarding the close or delay of school:
1. The Superintendent and district-level staff will communicate with the Sheriff's Department and other designated personnel and a decision reached.
2. An announcement to close or delay will be communicated to principals, radio and TV stations. No announcement means "school as usual."
3. Buses should delay the start of routes on questionable mornings until 6:45. This will give us time to communicate to radio and TV stations. Drivers should always use good judgment, even if it is contrary to announced decisions.
4. If parents feel conditions are unsafe in their area, they should keep their children at home
